Don't even know where to start. I had an aggravated felony 18 years ago as a teenager. I was under the impression that if I completed my probation and hadn't committed any new crimes, I could easily renew my green card. (Boy I was wrong!) I was also able to expunge my crime. My green card expired in 2015 and I went to meet an attorney in the Glendale area. What he told me was shocking to me. He said that I am not eligible to renew my green card and I'm at risk of being deported anytime. For 8 years I was living in fear and anxiety. I couldn't travel with my fiancé, family or any of my friends.
Every attorney told me I have a 1% chance of becoming a US citizen. I was devastated. A friend of mine that is also an immigration lawyer kept bringing up Patricia's name.
